How discipline, adversity, and obsession in the gym shaped everything I am today

I didn’t become who I am because of business.

I became who I am because of the gym.

Working out has been a part of my life for over 20 years. It’s not just something I do, it’s something that’s shaped who I am.

Growing up, it kept me away from a lot of things. I wasn’t out drinking or partying. I was in the gym. That alone changed the direction of my life.

It gave me structure early. It taught me discipline, drive, and how to push through when things get hard. Those same things show up every day in my life and in my career.

The gym teaches you adversity whether you want it or not.

Some days you feel great.

Some days you don’t.

But you still show up. No matter what.

You learn that results come from daily work. You set a goal…and then you go earn it.

Nothing is handed to you.

Everything is built over time.

Through effort.

Through patience.

Through consistency.

Through relentless work effort & obsession.

And at the same time, it humbles you.

There’s always someone stronger, bigger, faster.

Always another level.

It keeps you grounded.

It becomes a place where you can feel like yourself… no distractions, no noise. Just you working on you. Progressing.

It’s been a safe place for me.

When life gets stressful or overwhelming, the gym clears my head. It removes anxiety and negativity.

I walk in one way and not matter what I leave a better person.

Physically, it made me stronger and healthier.

But more than that, it built confidence.

It built someone I’m proud of.

I honestly believe a big part of my success in life comes from what I learned in the gym… mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Because at the end of the day…

The gym doesn’t just build your body.

It shows you who you really are.

The gym made me who I am today.

My success in life and in business comes from what it built in me.

Relentless work ethic.

An obsession with winning.

A constant drive to be the best.

The ability to handle adversity.

To stay competitive.

To keep going when most people stop.

Grit. Discipline. Drive. Determination.

Everything.

It was built in me through the gym.

Good days. Bad days. It doesn’t matter.

You go. You work. You execute.

You set goals and then you beat them.

And then you set new ones.

You progress.

Every set. Every workout. Every day.

Rep by rep.

You are constantly chasing a better version of yourself.

The gym teaches discipline and rewards your hard work by allowing you to build yourself into who you want to become.

Those same principles show up in my work every single day.

That’s how I operate.

That’s how I win.

That’s how I’ve built everything.

This is what separates you.

This is what makes you different.

This is what makes you a one percenter.

The gym built me into the one percent.
